The City of Albany will re-open a number of facilities from this weekend in response to the implementation of Phase 3 of the State Government’s easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre, Albany Public Library and Vancouver Arts Centre will all offer increased services from next week, while the National Anzac Centre will re-open. Playgrounds across the City, the Emu Point Outdoor Gym and skate parks will also open again.

Chief Executive Officer Andrew Sharpe said it was thanks to the good work of the community that the State was in a position to bring forward the easing of some restrictions.

“This phase we are entering allows the City to provide more services that the community are used to, and continue to support getting the local economy back up and running,” he said

“We are working within the appropriate capacity for maintaining our public health and safety which is a balancing act for every business, organisation and facility across Albany.

“As we welcome residents back through our doors, we are committed to working with them to provide a safe and positive service experience within our facilities.”

Visitors to the re-opened facilities must adhere to relevant Phase 3 public gathering and social distancing requirements, and comply with hygiene directions.
