GO YOUth FAQ's

What is the GOYOUth Membership?

The Go Youth program will be targeted towards youth between the ages of 11-18.  The membership aims to improve the well-being and mental health of members by providing a range of flexible active and non-active sessions, including group fitness, supervised gym, social sports and information sessions. 

 

Is the Go Youth program replacing Teen Fit?

Yes, Go Youth will take over Teen Fit. Credits from Teen fit will be applied to the Go Youth membership.

 

What happens to existing Teen Fit memberships?

Existing Teen Fit members have been transitioned to the Go Youth program. 

 

How much is the Go Youth Membership?

There are 2 membership options:

  • Upfront, 3 month membership for $110
  • Direct debit monthly ($36.66) with $25 start-up fee.

Both options included a free membership band.

 

Are bookings required for programs or are there class number restrictions?

Not at this stage.  If we get an influx of new members, we may need to cap class numbers however this will be decided if it happens.

 

Is an access tag provided for free?

Yes – all Go Youth members will receive an access band and they will have access to certain arrears of the facility depending on their age.

All Go Youth participants must enter the gym through the main reception door.

 

Participant Age Groups:

Ages 11- 12 Years Gym & Group Fitness Blue

  • Access to ALAC gym between 3:15pm-5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 430pm finish on Friday.
  • A pre-exercise screening questionnaire must be completed prior to participation in training
  • Membership form signed by parent / guardian on behalf of the child / adolescent
  • Ability to participate in Group Fitness classes that don’t involve weights - KiMax & Pilates Go YOUth classes.
  • Cardiovascular equipment only. No weight-based equipment

 

13-15 Years Gym & Group Fitness Red

  • Access to ALAC gym between 3:15pm-5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 430pm finish on Friday.
  • A pre-exercise screening questionnaire must be completed prior to participation in training
  • Membership form signed by parent / guardian on behalf of the child / adolescent
  • Eligible to participate all Go YOUth group fitness classes except RIP
  • Ability to use cardio equipment
  • Access to use pin loaded weights after induction has been completed

 

16-18 Years Gym & Group Fitness Black

  • Access to ALAC gym between 3:15pm-5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 430pm finish on Friday.
  • A pre-exercise screening questionnaire must be completed prior to participation in training
  • Membership form signed by parent / guardian on behalf of the child / adolescent
  • Eligible to participate in all GO YOUth group fitness classes
  • Ability to use cardio equipment
  • Access to use pin loaded weights after induction has been completed
  • Introduction to specific free weight equipment, with permission from ALAC gym staff and only as part of a designated exercise program. This will only happen once the participant has been deemed capable to safely use the eligible equipment

 

What centre access is allowed on the Go Youth membership?

Go Youth supervised gym access is 3.15pm - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 430pm finish on Friday.

Access to the pool and courts is allowed during opening hours (subject to availability).

 

Do Go Youth members require an induction?

Yes, all new Go Youth members require an induction before they can use the gym, bookable at the time of enrolment. The induction time is at 3:45pm Monday to Friday.

 

Is Parent/Guardian authorisation required to sign up?

Yes – A parent or guardian must be present at time of application.

 

Can Go Youth members suspend their memberships?

Yes – Suspensions are for a minimum of seven days, and have a maximum limit of 90 days per year.

 

Is there a minimum membership time?

  • Direct Debit – No minimum time, however members are required to give 14 days’ notice when cancelling.
  • The upfront 3 month membership option does not have the option of cancelling early.

 

Can you participate in Go Youth if you don’t have a membership?

Unfortunately, we can’t allow casual entry as all members need inductions.

 

What are the member’s requirement once in the gym?

  • Members must always bring a towel with them.
  • They must also keep on their membership band whilst working out.

 

No membership band will result in no gym access. Members can buy a new band at reception.
