This highly anticipated occasion stands as one of the pinnacle events of the year for our local sporting community, where we come together to officially recognise the remarkable accomplishments of Albany's exceptional athletes, spanning all age groups from the youth to the seasoned veterans.

The Albany region takes pride in being home to a wealth of exceptional sporting talent, both on and off the field. Our roster of high-profile athletes is widely celebrated, and our off-field contributors are equally outstanding. The annual awards ceremony serves as a platform to unite these remarkable individuals, honouring their accomplishments and unwavering dedication to the advancement of sport and recreation within the region. 

The Wellington and Reeves Albany Sportsperson of the Year Awards acknowledges the accomplishments of individuals within the sport and recreation industry across the following categories:

• Retravision Junior Sportsperson of the Year
• Castlehow Senior Sportsperson of the Year
• Sound Life Master Sportsperson of the Year
• Wellington & Reeves Albany Sportsperson of the Year

Nominations are collated on a monthly basis and reviewed by a judging panel for the selection of the monthly sportsperson winners. The City of Albany encourages local sporting clubs to nominate athletes from their clubs for the Sports Person of the Year Awards.
