About the Sporting Walk of Fame

As part of Albany’s 2026 Bicentenary celebrations, the City of Albany is establishing the Sporting Walk of Fame at Centennial Park.

This legacy project aims to honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to sport through achievement, leadership, service, or pioneering influence, leaving a legacy in both local and broader sporting communities.

The Walk of Fame recognises the achievement of City of Albany sports people who have made a significant contribution to their sport at an elite level.

Nominations close Friday 24th July.


Nomination criteria

Please make sure you read the Eligibility and Selection Criteria before making a nomination.

Before submitting your nomination, please ensure the individual has achieved a high level in their sport, such as competing at state, national, or international level. Nominees must also have completed at least five years of junior sport in Albany.

Nominations are open from April 23rd 2026.
